Go Green – A St. Paddy’s Day Outfit
I love green. Green for my beloved Spartans. Green like money. Green like Pantone’s color of the year – or the traditional shade of St. Paddy’s Day, coming up this Sunday. Since there’s still time to get yo’self an outfit, I thought I’d share my fave St. Paddy’s Day outfit.
This bright green jacket may be my new favorite outfit staple – its bright shade is perfect for spring (hello, March Madness!) the piping, lining and button details are fab, and it’s about as comfy as my favorite sweatshirt. Awesome.
Jacket: Gap, Shirt, Bag, Phone Cover: J Crew, Jeans: Banana Republic Factory Store, Booties: Gap Outlet, Sunnies: Nine West, Bracelet: Banana Republic, Watch: Michael Kors, Earrings, Necklace: Becky Beauchine Kulka

What are you going to be wearing this Sunday for St. Paddy’s Day? Any fun plans?

Dreaming of Derby – An Affordable Kentucky Derby Outfit
Once again this year, I won’t get to go to the Kentucky Derby. Dang husband and his dang GRADUATION.
But I can’t help but dream up cute and affordable Kentucky Derby outfit ideas! I saw this lovely dress at JCP over the weekend and knew it could be the base of a perfect Derby Day ensemble:
I included both a facinator and a traditional wide-brimmed hat – either would work perfectly with this look and be sure to turn heads on Derby Day. I like the straw bag for this look – it holds more than a clutch, and it’s a long day, so one tends to need more supplies. Again, long day – and typically a long walk to and from Churchill Downs – so a lower-heel shoe is key for comfort.
Dress: JCP, $40, Shoes: Seychelles, $80, Facinator: ebay, $11, Wide-brimmed hat: ebay, $70, Bag: Kelly & Katie via DSW, $40
Anyone else out there have a great affordable Kentucky Derby outfit? Please share!
Thrifted Office Wear
I love to mentally add up the cost of any given outfit I’m wearing and celebrate when it’s low. This one deserved a celebration – but despite the low cost, I think it looks great!
It helps your total when 2 items are thrifted, one is a gift and the final was on clearance at an outlet store. Outfit total? $25.
I found some great pieces at the latest thrift crawl, and this giraffe-print silk blouse is among them – I’d been wanting more refined layering pieces, and this one fits the bill VERY nicely.
Jacket: New York & Co., Thrifted, Shirt: Austin Reed, Thrifted, Pants: J Crew Factory, Shoes: Bandalino, Gift, Belt: LOFT, Bracelet: Roberto Coin, Ring: Tacori, both via Becky Beauchine Kulka
You had any success thrifting lately? I’m loving that it leaves me more money to spend on jewelry… Yeah, I know I have a problem.
Have a great day!
